Terms of use
As of October 2026 · Deutsche Fassung
This English version is provided for convenience. If the versions differ, the German version prevails.
1. Provider and scope
MyParentPath (German: MeinElternWeg) is operated by DHX LLC, 8 The Green, STB 199901, Dover, Delaware, USA, email contact@myparentpath.com (“we”). These terms apply to the use of the app, the web app at app.myparentpath.com and the “MyParentPath Plus” subscription.
2. What MyParentPath is – and what it isn't
MyParentPath is a tool that helps parents organise their children's everyday lives together: custody calendar, handovers, events, chat, expenses, documents and trips.
MyParentPath is not legal, family or tax advice. Hints in the app (for example about consent for trips abroad or about clashes in the calendar) are general guidance without guarantee. Agreements and decisions of courts or youth welfare offices always take precedence over the app. Expenses are only recorded; payments between you do not go through the app. Electronic consent letters do not replace a handwritten or certified letter in every country – please check the requirements of your destination.
3. Account
You need your own account to use the app. You must be at least 18 years old and give truthful information. Keep your sign-in details secret. Each parent uses their own account; two parents form a family and have equal access. Caregivers (Plus) only get read access to the areas described in the app.
4. Your content
You are responsible for the content you enter, upload or send. Please only upload content you are allowed to share, and no unlawful, insulting or threatening content. You grant us only the rights we need to store your content and show it to the other parent or your caregivers. We do not analyse or sell your content.
Chat messages and changes to custody are stored traceably. A chat is only deleted if both parents agree.
5. Free use and advertising
The basic features are free. In the free Android app we occasionally show advertising – never in the chat, during handovers or in forms. Details are in the privacy policy.
6. MyParentPath Plus
- Scope: Plus unlocks additional features as described in the app (including ad-free use, calendar sync, export, caregivers, more storage). Plus applies to the whole family: if one parent has Plus, the other benefits too.
- Prices: the prices shown in the app or the store before purchase apply (currently €4.99 per month or €39.99 per year, each including statutory VAT).
- Purchase and payment: in the Android app via Google Play, in the iPhone app via Apple's App Store, in the web app via our payment provider Stripe. The terms of the respective provider apply in addition.
- Trial: if a free trial is offered, it automatically turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel beforehand.
- Term and renewal: the subscription runs for one month or one year and renews automatically for the same period unless cancelled beforehand.
- Cancellation: at any time to the end of the current period – with Google Play under Play Store → Payments & subscriptions, in the App Store under Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, with Stripe via “Manage subscription” in the app or by email to us. Deleting the app or the account does not automatically end a Google Play or App Store subscription; a Stripe subscription ends automatically when the account is deleted.
- Price changes are announced in good time; you can then cancel to the end of the period.
7. Right of withdrawal
Right of withdrawal: as a consumer you have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (DHX LLC, 8 The Green, STB 199901, Dover, Delaware, USA, email contact@myparentpath.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by a clear statement (e.g. an email). To meet the deadline, it is sufficient to send your notice before the withdrawal period expires.
Effects of withdrawal: if you withdraw from this contract, we will refund all payments received from you without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day we receive your notice of withdrawal, using the same means of payment you used for the original transaction. If you requested that the service begin during the withdrawal period, you pay us a reasonable amount corresponding to the proportion of the service already provided until the withdrawal. For purchases via Google Play or the App Store you can also request a refund directly from Google or Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com).
Model withdrawal form: To DHX LLC, 8 The Green, STB 199901, Dover, Delaware, USA, contact@myparentpath.com: I/we hereby withdraw from the contract concluded by me/us for MyParentPath Plus. Ordered on / received on: … · Name: … · Account email address: … · Date: … · Signature (only for notice on paper).
8. Availability and changes
We strive for trouble-free operation but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, for example during maintenance or disruptions at service providers. We keep developing the app and may adjust features as long as the core of the contract is preserved.
9. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are only liable for breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. We accept no liability for the accuracy of content entered by users.
10. End of use
You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may block an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms; in that case we only refund a paid Plus subscription as far as required by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We inform you about changes in good time in the app or by email. Changes that significantly disadvantage you only take effect with your consent.
12. Law and dispute resolution
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
